A total of 74 projects competed in School District No. 91’s science fair, which was held in Burns Lake last week. Decker Lake Elementary student Haley Dell took first place in the Grade 5 category with her project ‘DNA challenge.’ Francois Lake Elementary student Hannah Zayac took first place in the Grade 7 category with the project ‘Focusing with fidgets.’ Homeschooler Solarus Mann, from Burns Lake, took first place in the Grade 8 category with the project ‘Matte versus glossy: the final showdown.’ First, second and third place winners now move on to the Central Interior science exhibition, which will be held in Prince George on April 1, 2017.
