Burns Lake’s water tower project makes progress

Burns Lake’s water tower replacement project is making progress. The two new towers - with a capacity of 1.5 million litres each - have been installed. The purpose of having two towers instead of one is to have a larger holding capacity for operating, fighting fires and emergency storage. It will also allow the village to temporarily take one tower out of service for maintenance or cleaning inside the tank.

The white tower on the right-hand side is the original tower, which is still in use until the new ones are ready to be used. Once the two new towers are in service, the original tower will be dismantled.
