Sheryle (Sherry) Louise Johnson, 71 years old, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2017 at Lakes District Hospital.

Sherry was born June 10, 1948 in Prince George, BC to Ray and Nettie Adams.

Sherry met the love of her life Rolf Johnson in Burns Lake in 1960. Rolf and Sherry were married in 1965 and moved to Forestdale where they raised their 2 sons. Sherry helped with Rolf’s logging business and later established her catering career.

Sherry’s love for cooking and gardening fed not only her family and friends but many others in the communities between Burns Lake and Houston. You never left her table hungry and often enjoyed her amazing baking, preserves and ethnic infusion cuisine as we all know Sherry never followed a recipe

Sherry loved spending hours puttering in her garden and picking berries. Her garden and yard were one of the many things she took pride in and was very generous sharing her harvest.

Sherry was an avid reader of non-fiction, cookbooks and newspapers as we have a received a clipping or two. The grandkids have many fond memories of all of grandma’s trinkets as they were always supplied with miniature baking and mini utensils to eat with. The grandkids enjoyed baking with Grandma and were always provided with dozens of goodies to take home.

Sherry is survived by her caring husband Rolf Johnson of 52 years, her two Sons, Curtis (Suzanne), Lorn (Tara), her 4 beloved grandchildren Anika, Jenna, Troy and Connor. Brother Lloyd (Joan) Adams, Sisters Rita (Dave) Benson, Lois Barrett, Sister-in-law Viola Strimbold and many nieces and nephews and good friends.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the medical and nursing staff at the Lakes District Hospital.
