The federal liberal government recently announced that Canada is looking to buy used fighter jets from Australia.
Used fighter jets… the stupidity continues. They forgot about a previous Canadian Liberal government buying used submarines from the British navy. The submarines were mothballed for a reason. They were not capable of any modern warfare situations. These submarines also led to the death of some navy personnel.
Our armed forces deserve better than being provided with obsolete equipment. I realize that these Australian jets are not obsolete, but they are used. Should the media prince decide to go with these jets they will have to be flown over 9000 miles to get them home.
If the hair boy in Ottawa really wants to get back to Boeing then he should look to our northern neighbour, Russia. Russian jets are equivalent to the American product and with the ruble being down they might be a bargain. Most fighter jets have basically the same capabilities. It’s how the pilots are trained is what makes the difference in combat.
Our enlisted men are some of the most dedicated military personnel in the world and they deserve better than used surplus equipment that other countries don’t want.
