A University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) soccer team with most of its players from Burns Lake has recently won the UNBC Intramurals Intermediate League Championships. “Intramurals” are a recreational league hosted through the UNBC Athletics and Recreation Department. The Burns Lake Football Club was formed by Nick Brochez, Jared West and Savio D’Silva in the fall of 2014. UNBC students and alumni make up their own teams to compete in round robin games throughout the year, with championships and qualifying rounds near the end.
