City West Cable and Telephone is considering expanding its services to Burns Lake.
The company has recently requested a letter of support from Burns Lake council.
“We believe there is a great need and opportunity for a fibre-optic network to serve communities in northern B.C., contingent on support from the province, First Nations communities, regional district and federal government,” says the City West letter to council.
Donovan Dias, City West’s vice president of sales and project management, said City West would offer the same services - Internet, TV and telephone - in Burns Lake that are currently offered in other northwest communities such as Houston and Smithers.
