On Oct. 23, the recommended option for arena expansion and upgrades was unveiled in Burns Lake.
According to Bruce Carscadden of Carscadden Architect Inc., the plan offers best value for the available dollars. "Instead of rebuilding space that you already have here, we've tried to use what you have," he told residents gathered at the public display of proposed arena renovations.
The $2.4 million dollar project also includes $250,000 to reinforce the domed roof on the curling arena, as well as a $200,000 upgrade to all electrical and sprinkler systems.
