Bringing awareness

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) on June 15.

Kelly Turford, executive director of Lakes District Community Services (LDCS), displays the bookmark made available to local residents in recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) on June 15.

LDCS and the Lakes District Community Response Network (LDCRN) conducted an advertising campaign here to raise awareness of the issue.

In addition to running ads and distributing posters, LDCRN members left WEEAD bookmarks at the Burns Lake Public Library and handed out WEAAD buttons.
