The Burns Lake Band has donated $5000 to the Lakes Animal Friendship Society (LAFS). “It is our biggest donation from a local government,” said Alistair Schroff, LAFS’ president. “We’ll see if we can get other local governments to match that [donation] so we can have reliable funding for the next three years.”
Schroff said the funding will be used towards spay/neuter programs and LAFS’ dog house project.
