In a single day, Burns Lake RCMP raised over $6000 for Cops for Cancer.
The jail and bail fundraiser had residents, business owners and even the Burns Lake Mayor, Luke Strimbold (L)arrested and asking friends and family to bail them out. Stuart McFee from Burns Lake Automotive was also one of many arrested that day.
More than 100 officers will cycle across the province in the Canadian Cancer Society’s cops for cancer tours this year, including two Burns Lake officers – constable Sabrina St-Pierre and constable Deborah Goble.
The seven-day ride from Prince George to Prince Rupert will start on Sept. 16. On Sept. 18, a cops for cancer rider dinner fundraiser will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, branch # 50. You can also visit copsforcancerbc.ca to donate.
