Constable David Wolchuk of the Burns Lake RCMP is participating in the 2014 Cops for Cancer Tour de North fundraiser this year.
The 800 km bike ride raises funding and awareness for pediatric cancer research.
This year’s event will begin in Prince George on Sept. 12 and the will end on Sept. 18 in Prince Rupert. The riders will be coming through Burns Lake on Saturday, Sept. 13.
Lakes District Air have sponsored a four day and four night fly-in fishing vacation to their lodge on Tesla Lake in Tweedsmuir Park.
Cst. Wolchuk is selling raffle tickets for the trip with the net proceeds going toward supporting Canadian Cancer Society programs within the BC/Yukon Division which help kids and their families in their fight against cancer. Tickets are on sale at the Burns Lake RCMP detachment.
