An event held at Margaret Patrick Memorial Centre last week helped bring awareness to violence against women and children.
Lake Babine Nation has declared February ‘family violence awareness month.’ The event included keynote speakers from the community and a march from the Burns Lake Native Development Corporation office back to the community hall.
During the event, the family violence prevention program collaboration committee alongside the staff at the New Vision Wellness Center hosted the ‘moose hide campaign,’ which aims to end violence towards women and children.
