The 2013 Scholarship Winners were announced at the 56th Annual Lakes District Festival of the Performing Arts in Burns Lake on April 20, 2013.
For piano, scholarship winners were: Samantha Unger, Sophie Shaffer, Sadie Bialuski, Ava Nealis, Anna Shaffer, Aiden Murphy, and Connor Murphy.
For speech arts, the scholarship winners were: Francois Lake Elementary School, Meyers Illes, Casey Muis, Trystan Gutteridge, Meghan Olson, Madison Minger, and Erica Moxon.
For string instrumental, Kiri Daust was the scholarship winner.
In the vocal program, scholarship winners were: Francois Lake Elementary Choir, the Francois Lake Elementary Girls Group, Decker Lake Elementary with Mrs. Wall, William Konkin Elementary with Mrs. Mills, Lauren Solecki, Mandolyn Nicholas, Jordan Illes, Sarah Vanderwolf, and Emma Moore.
The adjudicator’s recommendations to the BC Festival of the Arts for instrumental were Kiri Daust with Stefan-Bichlmaier and Tirion Lloyd-Grise as observers.
In the vocal category Nadine Arnott was recommended, with Eve Ghostkeeper as an observer.
For piano, Sadie Bialuski and Samantha Unger were recommended as junior and intermediate performers along with Sophie Shaffer as an observer.
