Fill A Sleigh for Burns Lake children

Burns Lake residents shopped at Red Apple on Dec. 8 for Fill A Sleigh Day, when shoppers bought toys for children and 10 per cent of the sales go to local community charities. “A lot of toys were donated and a lot of kids are going to get a really good Christmas,” store manager Rebecca Palmer told Lakes District News. The precise financial value of the donation to be given to charity was not yet known but Palmer estimates it could be around $4,000. “The event went great. The community was amazing and there was a lot of support,” she said. Local RCMP and fire department personnel helped out with the event. Fill A Sleigh Day was held at Red Apple shops across Canada.
