The Burns Lake Unit Crew held the Jeff Scott Charity car wash this past Saturday, July 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The car wash was done on an by donation basis with proceeds going towards Jeff Scott’s foundation called the ‘Live It!, Love It!’ foundation.

Jeff Scott, a Burns Lake native, started the ‘Live It!, Love It!’ foundation after he was injured four years ago in a snowboarding accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Scott worked with friends and fellow travellers to establish the foundation that promotes and provides adventure and recreation opportunities for the physically disabled.

In addition to the car wash, the Burns Lake Unit Crew is held an auction with all proceeds going towards the ‘Live It!, Love It!’ foundation. The highest bidder will win the work of 20 people for seven hours. The auction ended yesterday.

The Burns Lake Unit Crew raised over $1100 at the car wash on Saturday. “It was a fantastic event,” Kevin Swaney of the Burns Lake Unit Crew said, “it’s great to see the community support the event. Each year we’ve raised more and more money for the foundation.”
