Lakes District Secondary School students recently participated in the 26 annual Project Heavy Duty.
Students toured the Endako Mine and got to see the mill, mine pit, pit shop, the mine expansion as well as listen to the Human Resources presentation.
The next day, they visited Nechako Lumber and Premium Pellet in Vanderhoof.
After a welcome, overview of the mill, a safety orientation and the handing out of personal protective gear, students were divided into three groups for tours of the sawmill, planner and pellet plant.
Students will be completing the project later this month in Vanderhoof.
