The Lakes District News received a face lifet recently, thanks in part to support from the Village of Burns Lake’s Facade Improvement program.

The program allows for up to four businesses per year to receive funding towards enhancements of business exteriors.

Local company, DWA Ent. did a great job painting the Lakes District News’ building.

The newspaper’s building is a heritage building and was built in 1919. It served as the jail and police barracks until the 1950’s and is said to be haunted.
