Burns Lake Rotary exchange student Barbora Kruspanova really wanted to do a polar bear swim because she doesn’t have lakes where she lives and doesn’t get the opportunity to swim in winter.
Word got out and a couple more people joined in. (L-R) Barbora Kruspanova, Barb Finch and Halley Finch and braving the waters of Francois Lake on New Year’s Day.
They were cheered on by the Francois Lake Ferry goers and a sounding of the ferry horn as the girls entered the water.
