Local student Miranda Beedle was recently awarded first prize in the local section of a National Remembrance Day poster contest.
Beedle accepted a $25 cheque and a certificate from Burns Lake Legion branch #50 president Bob Whipps during a Legion meeting last week.
Beedle's poster has now been entered into zone seven which stretches from Burns Lake to Valemont, for judging, and if successful will move on to be judged in the national competition.
