After the Burns Lake Recycling Depot opened a fundraising account for the Lakes District Secondary School’s snowboard team, $645 were raised for the team in one week.
The Recycling Depot then donated an additional $200 to help pay for the team’s expenses at provincials.
The boys placed first overall while the girls placed third at the provincials held in Fernie, B.C., from Feb. 29 to March 2. The Recycling Depot also has fundraising accounts opened for the Canadian Cancer Society, Cops for Cancer, the Royal Canadian Legion and the Lakes District Food Bank.
