Lakes District Maintenance, in partnership with members of the Burns Lake RCMP detachment, conducted their annual 'shift into winter' campaign on Oct. 18, 2016. The roadside stop check was held to inform motorists that winter tires are a legal requirement, as well as to remind motorists to slow down to road conditions, not use cruise control during winter, watch for children, school buses, wildlife, road workers and snow removal equipment.
