About 60 people showed up for Burns Lake’s first soup kitchen on April 9 at the Vineyard Church.

According to John Rankin, Pastor at the Island Gospel Fellowship Church, people said the soup and homemade buns were “delicious.” He said many individuals took home some needed items which were donated by Overwaitea Foods.

The next soup kitchen will take place on May 7 at the Vineyard Church from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
