Choir prepares Christmas carol

The Lakes District Community Choir has a surprise for you at this year's Christmas concert.

The Lakes District Community Choir has a surprise for you at this year's Christmas concert. For the first time, the audience will be invited to sing along with the Hallelujah Chorus.

One of the most recognized pieces of music in the world, this selection from Handel's  "Messiah" is a traditional part of the choir's annual concert - but many more delights await you on December 14 at 2:30 p.m. at Immaculata Church, 248 Third Ave. Admission is by donation.

The first half of the concert the choir will feature the musical story "Mary, Did You Know?" Narrated by Paula Van Time, this blend of hymns, carols, and modern praise songs leads us through the events of the nativity.

Following intermission, the choir and guest artists will present seasonal favourites both old and new, plus a carol sing-along.  Please come and enjoy a refreshing break from the hustle and bustle of the season, and the delicious refreshments served at intermission.
