A special encore, matinee performance of the 25 anniversary performance of the 'Phantom of the Opera', Live at the Albert Hall, in London will be broadcast at the Beacon Theatre on Oct. 22 at 1 p.m. Advance tickets are $17 and are available at Process 4 circle arts Gallery.
The second performance in the Lakes District Arts Council's subscription season takes place Oct. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lakes District Secondary School multi purpose room. Guitar virtuoso Pavlo will present his fabulously entertaining 'Mediterranean Nights' show with his band, bouzouki, bass guitar and percussion accompaniment.
You can also pick up one of several Pavlo CD's or a DVD of his 'Mediterranean Nights' Bravo/CBC Bold special - at Process 4 circle arts Gallery.
A $700 value Pavlo Signature Series acoustic guitar will be given away free at Sunday evening's show. You must be in the audience to win the guitar.
And ... plan to enjoy the evening's art show, presented by the dynamic duo of Lynne and Erin Martens.
A special, extra performance by Pavlo will take place Oct. 24 at the Grassy Plains Hall at 7 p.m.
Ridley Terminals Inc. (RTI) will be purchasing $50,000 worth of artwork from artists in Northern B.C.
The artwork will then be donated to charities to use in their fundraising efforts. The art will be purchased from any artist residing in Northern B.C.
The art pieces to be purchased will vary in value and a variety of mediums will be selected.
Hint: think about what will be useful and popular for fundraisers.
This proposal can be art pieces that are already made, or will need to be commissioned from the artist.
The proposals must be submitted via email, and must include a high quality jpeg photo of the piece, a detailed written description of the piece, and a biography of the artist.
An adjudication committee of qualified people will make the final selection of art to be purchased.
Closing date for submissions is Oct. 28, 2011.
