Legendary guitarist and singer

The first concert in Lakes District Arts Council’s (LDAC) twelfth season takes place on Thursday evening, Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Lakes District Secondary School.

Stephen Fearing is an alluring guitarist and vocalist, heartbreaking, expansive and full of mirth, with a clear and honourable voice.

Fearing was born in 1963 in Vancouver and grew up in Dublin, where his schoolmates included future members of U2. In 1981, he moved to Minneapolis and immersed himself in the music scene, learning the fundamentals of songwriting and performing while washing dishes to stay alive.

By 1984 Stephen was back in Vancouver, determined to become a professional musician. In the years since, he’s been named as one of the finest songwriters in Canada and has built a national and international audience for his music. He does it old school, through countless performances at intimate venues and on the concert stages of festivals and theatres across Canada, the U.S. and Europe.

Fearing’s 2017 B.C. tour will feature his trio, including Gary Craig on drums and John Dymond on bass.

Tickets are now on sale at LDFC Printing and Stationery, the Lakes Artisan Centre and Process 4 circle arts Gallery. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors and students.

Watch for our ads in the Lakes District News, and posters around town. Arts 4 Youth tickets are available at local schools. Talk to your child’s teacher or principal.
