An enthusiastic audience of 178 locals gave the Northern Orchestra and its young soloists several hearty standing ovations during last weekend's concert, held at the First Mennonite Church.
Lynae Muller's rousing and virtuosic rendition of Saint-Saens' Piano Concerto #2 was an audience favorite. Conductor Gordon Lucas surprised the audience with a donation of $900, collected by orchestra members for the Burns Lake Tragedy Fund.
