There is still time to buy season tickets for the Lakes District Arts Council’s eleventh season.

There is still time to buy season tickets for the Lakes District Arts Council’s (LDAC) eleventh season, at Lakes District Printing and Stationery or at the Lakes Artisan Centre. Season tickets are definetely your best buy.

Process 4 circle arts Gallery is closed temporarily, as owner Wayne Brown spends time in Ontario. So, if you still need tickets, please go see Lisa and the staff at Lakes District Free Classifieds, or the friendly folks at the Lakes Artisan Centre. Please remember to have cash or a cheque available, when you place your season ticket order. LDAC cannot take credit or debit cards.

Shakespeare production at the Beacon Theatre The Beacon Theatre, in conjunction with the Burns Lake Community Foundation, will be presenting the British National Theatre production of Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ in Burns Lake.

The production will be filmed live onstage, on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. This production was originally broadcast in England in 2016, and is now available to North American audiences.

Reuniting the stars of his celebrated film ‘Cinderella,’ Sir Kenneth Branagh directs Richard Madden and Lily James as Romeo and Juliet and Sir Derek Jacobi as Mercutio.

A special feature during intermission takes the viewer backstage for interviews with the directors, producers, cast, and the people who create the magic.

Tickets are $11 and the production will run for approximately three hours and 30 minutes at the Beacon Theatre.

The Lakes District Film Society’s mandate is to bring quality entertainment - including the classics of stage, dance, and opera - to the Lakes District.
