My Favorite Tragedy is a three-piece acoustic band that stopped in to play an evening at the Beacon Theatre in Burns Lake on July 25, 2013.
Singer/songwriter North Easton formed the band in 2009 after the deeply felt loss of his mother and the need to find strength and hope in the face of loss. My Favorite Tragedy is rounded out by Phil Desmarais and John-Mark Desmarais. They left the next day to perform at the Kispiox Valley music festival.
Local songwriter, singer, and musician Tyree Parkin opened the show with an easy-going, likeable manner that instantly wins over any crowd, even before his music does.
