The Lakes District Film Society, in cooperation with Cineplex Entertainment, is pleased to present the Tony Award winning Broadway musical Memphis at the Beacon Theatre on April 28, 2011, at 7 p.m.

The Lakes District Community Choir presents its Spring Concert on May 1 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Mennonite Church. The programme will include 'Beatles and Broadway' with special guests. Admission is by donation.
The Burns Lake Rotary Club presents 'Naughty and Nice', the 3rd Annual Wine-Tasting Night on May 6 at 7 p.m. upstairs in the Burns Lake Curling Club. The event will feature appetizers, a silent auction and live entertainment.
Designated drivers will be available. Tickets are $35 per person or $60 per couple, and are available at Lakes District News, College of New Caledonia Lakes District Campus, Burns Lake Native Development Corporation, the Grapevine Pub and the Bulkley Valley Credit Union.
All profits will go to the Prince George Cancer Lodge.
