A Burns Lake area man facing multiple firearms-related charges appeared in court on May 22 as his case continues to wind its way through the courts.

Gerald Noth, 32, is accused of multiple firearms charges and assault with a weapon after an incident where police were called to a report of a man discharging a firearm, and is also accused of using a vehicle on the Southside to intentionally strike a man before allegedly setting that man's house on fire.

The May 22 appearance, at court in Smithers, was to set a trial date.

Noth is set to appear in court next on Sept. 11 in Prince George for a pre-trial conference.

He has a long criminal history with his name appearing on 11 B.C. criminal court files dating back to 2012.
