Burns Lake residents had a chance to experience a “sound bath” last weekend.

The event, which included a workhsop, a fire ceremony and seed planting, was provided by Quesnel instructor Danielea Castell. She describes sound bath as the application of sound frequencies to the body/mind of a person with the intention of restoring the state of harmony and balance.

“Sound is very potent and affects us physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually,” said Castell. “No two people have the same experience from the same sound.”

Inge Lindaas, host of the event, said that when she heard the crystal bowls in the sound bath she felt her soul “connect with the universe.” Lindaas wants to make this an annual event in Burns Lake.
