The Lakes Fellowship church in Burns Lake is almost done building a shed where residents can drop-off warm clothes and other necessities for people who are in need.
The shed is named the ‘Giving Tree.’
Juanita McFee spokesperson for the church said they started building the shed last spring and will have it up and running by Dec. 1.
“We have a keeping people warm theme so boots, coats, blankets, toques and gloves [are what they are looking for to be donated]. A few donations were made by our church people and more will be collected in next month.”
People can also drop-off items on Fridays at the Burns Lake Supply Ltd. located on 98 Francois Lake Drive.
The shed is located at the church parking lot and respectfully people can come take what they need. Everyone is asked to leave the shed tidy for the next person after they use it.
McFee said anyone who are in need can use this shed.
“Our church family believes in showing people the love of God by helping our community and giving to those with needs.”
