Mountain biking is one of the top four outdoor activities that drew visitors to Burns Lake in 2018, a survey showed.
The traditional favourites of camping, hiking and fishing were the three main draws, with mountain biking coming in fourth, Randi Amendt, manager of the Burns Lake and District Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Centre told Lakes District News.
Of 2,156 visiting groups polled this year, 16 per cent came here to camp, 13 per cent came for hiking, 10 per cent came for fishing and 7 per cent came for biking.
Though mountain biking has over the last decade in Burns Lake grown considerably in popularity, it’s a relatively newer sport in the area compared to camping, hiking and fishing.
