Man arrested after firearms incident in Grassy Plains

No one injured, suspect arrested without further incident, charged with several offences

A man was arrested without further incident after a report of shots fired in Grassy Plains.

A man was arrested on several firearms charges on March 9 after RCMP were called to a disturbance with shots fired in Grassy Plains.

The gunfire was not directed at anyone and no one was injured, according to an RCMP press release issued March 13. Burns Lake RCMP, assisted by an RCMP Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant and were able to arrest a suspect without further incident.

Gerald Noth, 32, was charged with possessing a weapon for dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and possessing a firearm without a licence and/or registration. He was released under a condition to appear at a future court date.

The RCMP believe there is no ongoing risk to the public, according to the press release.
