Attempted robbery suspect wanted

On Jan. 23, 2012 at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Prince George RCMP received a report of an assault of a taxi driver.

Officers attended the University Hospital of Northern B.C. where the victim was receiving treatment for his injuries.

The 63 year old cab driver told police that he picked up the suspect at the Treasure Cove Casino and he requested to go to the area of Alexander Crescent and Anthlone Avenue in Prince George.

The suspect, whom was thought to be intoxicated, became agitated and began to assault the driver by putting an arm around his neck. He then demanded the victims money, but the victim was able to fight off the suspect while yelling for help.

The suspect fled on foot near Alexander Crescent, without obtaining money.

After the altercation, the driver continued his duties until he noticed he was bleeding on his neck and drove himself to the hospital.

Police were called shortly after.

The suspect is described as a First Nations male, approximately 183 cm (6') tall, was wearing a white jacket with designs and a green and white Vancouver Canucks baseball cap, He was also carrying a backpack.
