A biker on his way to the southern tip of South America was hit by a vehicle on Hwy. 16 near Burns Lake Tuesday.
According to corporal Aaron Semmler with the Burns Lake RCMP, the bike was equipped with appropriate tires for winter conditions. However, due to extremely icy conditions, an oncoming vehicle fishtailed and clipped the bike causing the accident.
The biker did not suffer any serious injuries. Violation tickets were issued to the driver of the car.
Corporal Semmler believes the biker was able to carry on with his trip, but was unable to confirm it.
