On May 18, 2013, the Burns Lake fire department responded to a blaze on Gowan Rd. in Burns Lake. The building was already engulfed in flames when the firefighters arrived on scene, and the building collapsed in upon itself after initial attempts to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
