Almost 10 years after the suspicious death of Roger Tom, whose body was found behind the Lakeview Mall on Sept. 13, 2006, the investigation remains unresolved.
The Burns Lake RCMP are continuing to seek the public's assistance for any information regarding his death.
"Sometimes after time passes people are more willing to come forward with information," said staff sergeant Charlotte Peters with the Burns Lake RCMP.
Two other cases in the region remain unresolved.
Perry (PJ) Sebastian, who was last seen on the morning of Dec. 26, 2011 on the Nee Tahi Buhn reserve, remains missing. After Sebastian went missing, the RCMP conducted ground and aerial searches in the area where he was last seen and leads have been followed up upon, but without any success.
According to staff sergeant Peters, Sebastian's case remains an active and ongoing investigation.
The other unresolved case involves a Cheslatta Carrier Nation family - the Jack family. Ronald Jack, his wife, Doreen, and their two sons - nine-year-old Russell and four-year-old Ryan - disappeared in August of 1989.
The last reported sighting of Ronald was at a pub in Price George, near the family’s home. Eyewitnesses said Ronald left the pub with a tall, Caucasian man approximately 35 to 40 years old. Later, a relative told police the man had offered Jack and Doreen jobs at his logging camp in the Cluculz Lake area.
According to investigators, the couple’s home in Prince George appeared as if they had every intention of returning.
In September of 2005, Ronald's father - Casimel Jack - also went missing from his Mollice Lake home. Although there was an extensive search - involving local volunteers, search and rescue, family members and RCMP - of the ground and the area where Casimel went missing, he was never located.
