The Dayeezcha Mountain fire, located approximately 44 km southeast of Burns Lake, has been put in “patrol status.”

Fires in patrol status are fires that are being monitored for any smoke or fire that may pop up as conditions change.

The fire was discovered on April 18 and covered about 129 hectares.

Olivia Pojar, Fire Information Officer with the Northwest Fire Centre, said crews are regularly patrolling the fire, and the significant amount of precipitation received by the area over the past week helped to reduce fire activity in that location.

There are currently no fire bans in the Northwest Fire Centre.
