Drug raid in Burns Lake

Various illicit drugs were seized, including marijuana, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, cash, three firearms and drug paraphernalia.

On Feb. 6, 2012 at 11:14 p.m. members from the Burns Lake RCMP detachment executed a drug search warrant at a Fifth Avenue residence.

Various illicit drugs were seized, including marijuana, cocaine, psilocybin [magic] mushrooms, cash, three firearms and drug paraphernalia.

Two males were arrested at the scene. A 20 year old Burns Lake resident was released unconditionally and a 21 year old Burns Lake resident was released on a promise to appear at the Burns Lake Provincial Court in May 2012.

RCMP are recommending one charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine pursuant to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and one charge of trafficking marijuana pursuant to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

This successful enforcement action demonstrates the Burns Lake RCMP detachment's commitment to combat illegal activities to reduce crime and promote safe and secure communities.
