On Jan. 13, 2013 at approximately 5:20 a.m., an off-duty RCMP officer was on the phone looking out the front window of his residence.
The officer watched as a man rode his bike into the officer's driveway and began to break into his truck.
After a lengthy struggle, the officer asked his wife, who is also an RCMP officer, to get help.
Neighbours began coming out of their homes to assist the officers.
Uniformed officers arrived and arrested the 25 year old man from Chilliwack.
