Ex girlfriend damages vehicle; alcohol a factor in incident

Burns Lake RCMP responded to a total of 42 calls for service and lodged eight prisoners. A summery of some of the calls for service include:

At approx. 2:30 p.m. on Apr. 1, 2014 an adult male attended the detachment to report that his ex-girlfriend had attended his residence the proceeding day and damaged his motor vehicle after being asked to leave. Alcohol was a factor and a peace bond through the court is being sought.

Fraud

At approx. 1:34 p.m. on Apr. 2, 2014 police received a report of an attempted fraud. A person from the community received a bill from Bell along with a letter welcoming the customer to Bell Mobility. The customer contacted Bell to advise that their service provider is another company. Through communication with Bell it was determined that two people not known by the customer were associated to the account. Police wish to remind the public to clarify billing information and to contact their service provider should they note questionable charges.

Assault

At approx. 6:10 a.m. on Apr. 4, 2014 police received a call to the 400 block of 3 Avenue in Burns Lake in relation to a domestic assault. Police investigation located an adult female victim on the street that had injuries consistent with having been assaulted. The victim was transported to the Lakes District Hospital for treatment. An adult female was arrested inside the residence and the investigation is ongoing. Alcohol was a factor.

Fight

At approximately 10:58 p.m. on Apr. 5, 2014 police responded to a call for service on Sus Avenue in Burns Lake in relation to two males fighting. Police investigation determined that there was insufficient evidence to support a charge of assault however an arrest for being drunk in a public place.
