Monday at approx. 12:20 a.m. RCMP, fire and ambulance were dispatched to a two vehicle accident near the Sheridan overpass 32 kms east of Burns Lake on Hwy 16.
Investigation indicates that a west bound tractor trailer unit pulling a 60 foot produce trailer collided with an east bound tractor trailer unit hauling logs. Both drivers were taken to the Burns Lake Hospital. The driver of the produce truck, a 55 year old male from Kelowna was treated at the hospital but passed away due to the extent of his injuries. The female driver of the logging truck is being treated for her injuries which is described as non life threatening.
