In the ditch
At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Mar. 26, 2014 police responded to a report of a motor vehicle in the ditch and then back onto the Hwy. 35 swerving all over the roadway. Police located a dark coloured pickup trucking matching the description provided earlier, parked in the middle of a lane way on the highway. Police investigation resulted in the adult male driver receiving a 90 immediate roadside prohibition and his pickup truck impounded for 30 days. The driver and the passenger were provided a ride to a residence.
Excessive drinker
At approximately 1:10 a.m. on Mar. 28, 2014 police received multiple 911 traced back to an occupant of a residence on Chaz Avenue. Police investigation led them to a residence in the 200 block of Hill Street where there were a large group of teenager's gathered around a campfire. Further investigation found the subscriber of the cell phone originating the 911 call passed out in a room within the residence. Attempts to awaken the young females failed and BC Ambulance was summoned to assist. The young person was transported to the Lakes District Hospital for care. This is but one example of a troubling emerging trend whereby young people under the age of 19 are gaining access to alcohol and drinking to excess. Police encourage parents, guardians and caregivers to make the time to have a discussion around this subject matter.
Fight
At approximately 6:45 p.m. on Mar. 28, 2014 police responded to a call for service to the 800 block of Babine Crescent in relation to a group of several females in the complainants' yard. Police investigation determined that prior to police arrival a fight had occurred in a residence in the area. Police are recommending charges including assault, assault with a weapon and assault of a peace office against a 15 year old young person who is from out of town. Alcohol was a factor.
Another fight
At approximately 7:48 p.m. on Mar. 28, 2014 police responded to a 911 call reporting that a young female person was highly intoxicated and fighting with a parent at the Lakes District Hospital. Police responded and arrested the young person for being drunk in a public place. The young person was lodged until sober and released to a parent.
Self harm
At approximately 10:01 p.m. on Mar. 28, 2014 police received a call of an adult female attempting self-harm at a residence on Sus Avenue. Police and the BC Ambulance Service immediately responded and found the female inside the residence with fresh cuts to her arm. The female willingly accompanied the ambulance to the Lakes District Hospital for medical treatment.
Mischief
At approximately 12:15 a.m on Mar. 29, 2014 police received a call for service to the same residence on Sus Avenue as the female who had earlier been the subject of a mental health complaint at the residence was back and causing problems for the family. Police resounded and arrested the intoxicated adult female for mischief by disturbing the lawful enjoyment of property. The person was lodged in cells until sober and no charges are being considered.
Self harm
At approximately 12:35 a.m. on Mar. 29, 2014 police received a call for service in the 100 block of Chas Avenue in relation to an adult female attempting self-harm. Police and the BC Ambulance Service responded and determined the adult female has superficial cuts to an arm. The adult female willingly accompanied paramedics to the Lakes District Hospital for medical treatment.
Domestic dispute
At approximately 12:42 a.m. on Mar. 29, 2014 police received a 911 call for service involving a domestic dispute at a residence on Roumieu Drive. Police responded and arrested an intoxicated adult female for mischief by disturbing lawful enjoyment of property. The female was lodged in cells until sober and released unconditionally.
Passed out
At approximately 7:00 p.m. on Mar. 29, 2014 police responded to a location in the 800 block of Center Street in relation to an intoxicated male. Upon police arrival police found an adult male passed out, drooling upon himself and having urinated himself. Police arrested the male for public intoxication and lodged in cells. Police determined upon conducting computer checks that the male had outstanding warrants from Prince George. Once sober the male was taken before a Justice of the Peace and released on conditions to appear in Provincial court in Prince George in April 2014.
