A small car went off the road and onto the railway tracks before 10:15 a.m. Jan. 19 after the driver, who was alone in the vehicle, lost control at a corner west of Terrace along Hwy 16, near Daumont Level Crossing and the railway’s 27.5 mile mark.
The man was able to exit his car and move away from the tracks before an oncoming train hit the vehicle and police who were at the scene say no one was injured.
The highway was closed in both directions between Terrace and Prince Rupert for several hours.
