Man arrested in connection with triple homicide in Burns Lake

A major police investigation is taking place on 5th ave in Burns Lake at the moment.

UPDATE: 54 year old Burns Lake resident Reuben BUHLER has been arrested in connection with the homicides and has been charged with three counts of second degree murder and is  appearing in Burns Lake Provincial Court today.

On April 27, 2015 at 8:25 a.m., the Burns Lake RCMP attended a residence in the 200 block of 5th Ave in Burns Lake after receiving a report of potential foul play.

Officers entered the residence and found 3 people, one woman and two men, dead inside. The identities of all three victims are not being released at this time.

A 54 year old Burns Lake man has been arrested in connection with the homicides and is currently in police custody pending a Justice of the Peace hearing this afternoon.

Police believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no further risk to the public.

The North District Major Crime Unit (ND MCU), Prince George Forensic Identification Unit (PG FIS), and members from the North District General Investigative Unit (ND GIS out of Terrace and Prince George) are assisting the Burns lake RCMP in their investigation.

The investigation is still in its very early stages and no other information can be released at this time in order to protect the integrity of the investigation and the upcoming court process.

This afternoon Mayor Luke Strimbold send out his condolences saying, "this is a time for all of us to think about and say a prayer for all families that are faced with questions and loss."
