Garrett Steven George, 29, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in relation to the death of Destiny Rae Tom.
On March 23, 2013, the Fraser Lake RCMP responded to a 911 call in the Fort Fraser area where they found Tom deceased outside of a residence on the Nadleh First Nation reserve near Fort Fraser.
George entered the plea on June 13, 2016, during a voir dire hearing in B.C. Supreme Court in Prince George. George had been facing a charge of second-degree murder in Tom's death; he was arrested and charged in February 2015.
Tom was a resident of the Nadleh First Nations reserve and the daughter of Andy and Vivian Tom. Destiny and George were known to each other.
A date for sentencing George has not yet been set.
