Moose may have caused fatal accident

A moose collision is believed to be the cause of a fatal accident that took place near Granisle last week.

A moose collision is believed to be the cause of a fatal accident that took place near Granisle last week.

Terrace resident Bryon Edward Heighington, aged 62, was the driver and sole occupant of a quad ATV that possibly collided with a moose and then left the roadway on Hwy. 118, just south of Red Bluff Provincial Park.

The accident took place on July 10, 2016, just after 8 p.m. Heighington was found deceased at the scene.

The B.C. Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
