Occupants decline medical treatment

March 2 at 10 a.m. Burns Lake RCMP attended to a two motor vehicle accident at the Babine Forest Products turn off on Hwy.

March 2 at 10 a.m. Burns Lake RCMP attended to a two motor vehicle accident at the Babine Forest Products turn off on Hwy. 16. A white van had collided with the rear of the chip trailer as the chip truck was slowing down and attempting to turn into the mill off of Hwy. 16. Poor visibility due to blowing snow and driving too fast for road conditions appears to be mitigating factors to this accident. Injuries were minor with the van’s occupants declining medical treatment by EHS.

March 3 at 7:30 a.m. Burns Lake RCMP received a report of an intoxicated male trying to get into a home on Center St. The 34 yr. old male was located and arrested by police The male suspect was found to be breaching his probation. The male was given protective lodging and will now be facing charges of breaching probation.

March 3 at 7 p.m. Burns Lake RCMP attended to a call of theft of gasoline from a yard on Brown Rd. Investigation indicates that approximately 1000 liters of gasoline had been stolen over a two week period from a bulk tank. The tank locks had been cut off to gain access to the fuel. The investigation is on going.

March 4 at 11 p.m. Burns Lake RCMP received a report of a possible impaired driver near Tintagel on Hwy. 16. The suspect vehicle had been involved in minor accident on Hwy. 16. The suspect driver, a 43 yr. old male from the Burns Lake area was located and exhibited signs of alcohol consumption. The suspect driver was arrested and subsequently provided breath samples of 230 and 220 MG per cent almost three times the legal limit. The driver is now facing charges of impaired driving and driving over the legal limit.

March 5 at 3 p.m. Burns Lake RCMP were advised of a break and enter into a home on Sus Ave. Entry had been gained sometime in the past 24 hours via the rear door. Taken from the home was an Xbox 360 and games. The investigation is on going.

March 6 at 2 a.m. Burns Lake RCMP  on patrol observed a vehicle driving with no lights on. The vehicle was stopped and the driver noted to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver blew a fail on the roadside screening device and was issued a 90 day driving suspension and the vehicle impounded for 30 days.

March 6 at 8:30 a.m. Burns Lake RCMP attended to a call to assist EHS at a home on Nash Road. Investigation revealed that a 29 yr. old male had been stabbed and cut by his common law spouse during an altercation. The male was treated at hospital and released. The female was later released on bail.
