There are only two weeks left to enter the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako (RDBN) start-up business contest.

The contest gives participants a chance to win cash and prizes to help their business. You are eligible to enter if you are located within the RDBN and have a new business; a great business idea; or an existing business wishing to diversify.

Five finalists will each receive a prize package and the chance to present their business idea at the regional business forum on Sept. 19. The 2017 RDBN startup business contest winner will be announced at the gala dinner being held later that evening. The winner will receive $8750 cash plus $8100 in services and supplies.

Mel McCutcheon, Bare Hands Landscaping & Design and 2012 contest winner, credits the RDBN start-up business contest for giving her business more of a boost than she could have expected.

“I had no idea the amount of demand that would come after winning the 2012 contest. The process of doing the business plan was so beneficial and allowed me to anticipate the unforeseeable. Now I update my business plan annually.”

In addition to the finalist and winner prize package, one lucky contest entrant will be randomly selected to win a two-hour business consultation.

So get your business plan together and enter by Aug. 9, 2017 to win big. For more information and to enter visit www.rdbn.bc.ca/businesscontest.
